Here are a few interesting happenings in the professional academic side of my life as of late.
- I was interviewed by Alexus McLeod for the New Books Network: Philosophy podcast. It was a lot of fun talking to Alexus about my book (Three Pillars of Skepticism in Classical India: Nāgārjuna, Jayarāśi, and Śrī Harṣa), and I think the podcast turned out pretty well. It is totally weird hearing myself talk, though. Do I really sound like that? It was also pretty surreal to see the podcast notification on my phone with my name on it and then to listen to the podcast. You can listen to it here!
- On March 7 I will be speaking remotely via Skype with Bras Basah Open School of Theory and the Yale-NUS Philosophy Society about my book! The meeting will be hosted by Farhan Idris (Bras Basah Open School of Theory) and my friend and colleague Prof. Malcolm Keating (Yale-NUS). The meeting is in Singapore, but I will be "attending" remotely from Chattanooga, TN, USA. Hopefully someday I will visit Singapore in physical form, but until then I am thrilled to visit remotely and discuss my book with such a distinguished international audience! If you will be in Singapore and are interested in attending, you can find details on a recent post on the Indian Philosophy Blog. There may be a recording, and if there is I will be sure to make it available here!
- Speaking of Malcolm Keating, he has been making some excellent posts about my book over on his blog that include some helpful clarifications and just-as-helpful criticisms. See here, here, here, and here so far. Thanks, Malcolm!
